JAMMU, May 9: The Home Department of the Jammu and Kashmir Government today declared six Wings of the Crime Branch as the Police Stations with concerned SP and DySP designated as SHOs of the Police Stations.
Six Wings which have been declared as Police Stations are Special Crime Wing (SCW) Jammu and SCW Srinagar, Economic Offences Wing (EOW) Jammu and EOW Srinagar, Cyber Crime Investigation Centre for Excellence (CICE) Jammu and CICE Srinagar.
An order to this effect was issued today by Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary) Home RK Goyal.
The Superintendents of Police posted in offices at SCW Jammu/Srinagar and EOW Jammu/Srinagar and DySP for CICE Jammu/Srinagar will be the Station House Officers (SHOs) of their respective Police Stations.
“Six Police Stations have been created for the purpose of registration and investigation of offences, specified against them by the Home Department,” the order said.
They will exercise territorial jurisdiction within their respective units at the divisional level and the offences shall be investigated on the orders of the Head of the Crime Branch.
Apart from the specified monuments, any other cases, as may be deemed necessary, may also be referred by the Government or the Director General of Police Jammu and Kashmir to the Head of the Crime Branch for registration and investigations by the respective Police Station, the Home Department order said.
The Home Department also issued detailed order specifying offences to be registered and investigated by the newly made Police Stations.
