POONCH, Dec 15: Government Degree College (GDC) Mendhar has been renamed as Sufi Saint Syed Chhotey Shah in a function which was organized in the College premises, here today.
Prominent citizens including Members of DDC and BDC, Tehsildar, SDPO, College staff and students were present during the renaming ceremony of the College.
Vice-chairperson of District Development Council Poonch, Mohd Ashfar was the chief guest on the occasion. The programme was presided over by the College Principal, Professor Dileep Kumar Raina, while Prof Shokit Hussain, HoD Chemistry was the coordinator of the event.
The renaming ceremony was organized in compliance with the Government order that the Schools and Colleges in Jammu and Kashmir will be renamed after the eminent personalities and martyrs.
