Govt denied security to JKNPP candidates, alleges Bhim

JAMMU, Apr 18: Chief Patron of National Panthers Party (NPP) has lodged protest with Governor NN Vohra over alleged denial of security cover to the Panthers Party candidates and their election agents in Kashmir Valley by the State Government.
He pointed out that Dr Abid Mohd Khan, who is Party’s candidate from Anantnag Parliamentary constituency has not been provided any security cover during the election campaign rather he is being harassed and threatened by the administration.
Moreover, SSP Shopian refused permission to Dr Khan to hold public meetings in spite of appropriate permission by the District Election Officer, he alleged.
Prof Singh further complained Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) of India that Mohd Maqbool Malik, JKNPP’s candidate from Srinagar constituency was threatened by National Conference to face the consequences if he did not run away from the contest. He urged CEC to disqualify NC candidates from the contest.
