Govt employee nabbed with pistol

RAJOURI, Dec 17: The Police arrested a man working in the J&K Animal Husbandry Department and recovered a pistol and six bullets from his possession in district Rajouri today.
Senior Superintendent of Police Rajouri, Chandan Kohli said that on Wednesday late evening, a car No. JK11B/ 9271, being driven by Jasvinder Singh, son of Amarjeet Singh, resident of Nonial in Nowshera, skidded off the road at Chatta Siot.
“Soon after the accident, a team of police headed by SI Kamal Kumar under the supervision of SHO Dharamsal Rajinder Sharma rushed to the spot but the car driver started to escape from the spot,” SSP said.
The police team chased the driver and managed to detain him and found one pistol and six bullets of 7.65 mm caliber in his possession.
“Accused was arrested from the spot and a case under relevant sections of law for carrying an illegal weapon has been registered. Further investigation into the matter is going on,” SSP said.
