Govt Employees Federation floated

SRINAGAR, Feb 3: Senior Trade Union leaders who were associated with LPEF in a meeting here today constituted Government Employees Federation with Abdul Ahad Rather as its president.
The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Ghulam Mohi-ud-_Din Shilvati. The other office bearers of the new organization included Mohammed Sultan Mir and Master Ghulam Rasool Lone as vice presidents, Engineer Ghulam Ahmed Mir as chief advisor, Sheikh Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Shilvati as general secretary, Noor Mohammed Sheikh as secretary, Noor Mohammed Kathjoo as spokesman, Abdul Rehman Sheikh as chief organizer, Ghulam Mohammed Raina as organising secretary and Ghulam Rasool as publicity secretary.
The meeting lauded the role of senior trade union leader Mir Ghulam Rasool Batwani in the struggle of working class and appealed him to lead the new orgnisation also.
The meeting decided to hold one day conference soon. The meeting, while highlighting the problems demanded release of 6th Pay Commission arrears in favour of employees and pensioners, regularization of causal laborers and need based employees, enhancement of wages of daily wagers to Rs 300 per day and solving the other pending problems of class fourth employees, village chokidars and nambardars etc, ReTs and ReZs .
