Govt employees withdraw their call for scheduled protests

JAMMU, Nov 3: Following fruitful talks with Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Government employees unions have withdrawn their call for schedule protests tomorrow.
These unions, including Government Employees Joint Action Forum and Employees Joint Coordination Committee Jammu and Kashmir had given a joint call for protest demonstrations in Jammu and Srinagar over their demands for clearing GPF, leave salary, gratuity and SRO-43 cases.
Taking cognizance of the resentment among employees, Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar today leaders of these employees’ unions for talks. During the detailed discussion, the Divisional Commissioner sought to convince the employees’ leaders that the Government was actively considering all their demands and issues, following which the latter agreed to withdraw their call for scheduled protests.
Chairman, Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum, Ganesh Khajuria; President Medical Employees Federation, Sushil Sudan; President State Forest Employees Union, Suresh Sharma; President Clerical Union, Anish Sharma, President Power Development Employees Union, Gurmeet Singh; Provincial President Employees Union, S Gurmeet Singh and other members were present in the meeting.
