Govt facing shortage of 16500 metric tonnes of ration

JAMMU, Mar 14: The Government today said the State is facing shortage of 16,500 metric tonnes of ration against the requirement.

In a reply to the question asked by MLC Shehnaz Ganai in the Legislative Council regarding requirement of ration in the State, Minister for CAPD Choudhary Mohamamd Ramzan said against the requirement of 79,567 metric tonnes, the State is getting only 63,067 metric tonnes of ration, thus there is a shortage of  16,500 metric tonnes.

Meanwhile in a calling attention motion for the issue regarding installation of substandard transformers under RGGVY scheme in Poonch district, the MLC said the agency concerned has installed 140 transformers out of which 25 transformers got damaged within one month of the installation, which is a matter of concern.

The transformers were under replacement warranty for one year but since three months the concerned agency has not replaced the same, resulting that 25 villages in Poonch district are without power for the last three months. (AGENCIES)
