Govt failed in meeting poll promises: Bhalla

JAMMU, Jan 3: A meeting was organized by Congress Committee of Ward Number 56, Gangyal under the chairmanship of former Corporator Sateesh Kumar Sharma.
On the occasion, Former Minister and vice president PCC Raman Bhalla was the chief guest, who while speaking said that the time has come to expose the nefarious designs of present Government which is hell bent to divide the people on the basis of caste, creed, religion and region to hide their failure and inability to give good governance.
He added that the Government has failed in all its commitments and promises made during campaign of Assembly elections. The slogan of ‘Make in India’ turned to be ‘Break in India’. The promises made to border migrants, refugees and other sections of society had been completely ignored.
Bhalla said that it was very pity that though the oil prices have come down very low in previous year in the international market and most countries were passing these benefits to their countrymen by lowering the prices of diesel and petrol but here in this country no such benefits were passed to the common people.
“There is no foreign policy at all with this Government and Prime Minister is only enjoying foreign trips just for his personal publicity”, he added.
The works and projects initiated by previous Government came to a sudden halt as soon as the present Government took oath, he said, adding that electricity crisis were witnessed in the peak summer season and there is no action plan ready with the Government to improve the electricity supply in the State. He stated that the complicated formalities associated with the form filling for ration supply has also created the problems for the common people.
Bhalla said that he is always with the common people as earlier and will leave no stone unturned to expose the malfunctioning of present Government and keep on fighting for the justice and development of common public.
Later, blankets and other necessary items were also distributed among poor and needy people.
