SRINAGAR, Mar 30: Expressing concern over the uncontrolled prices of essential commodities, frequent power outages and unavailability of fertilizer in the Valley markets, Apni Party held provincial-level meeting to evaluate public grievances and discuss party affairs.
Party senior vice president Ghulam Hassan Mir while addressing meeting said that the administration seems to be failing to address important public issues even in the ongoing holy month of Ramzan. Mir after taking feedback from the party workers alleged that Govt has failed to address the problems that the people are grappling with these days.
Mir said the administration seems to be failing to address important public issues. “It is sad to see that people do not get a continuous power supply even at the Sehri and Iftar hours in many areas. Since people have to fulfill certain special religious obligations during the month of Ramzan, the administration was supposed to ensure an uninterrupted power supply to the consumers in these days. Similarly, the administration has failed to intensify the market checking to put a check on black marketers and hoarders during this holy month,” Mir added.
“The complaints pouring in from various areas suggest that the authorities are unconcerned about these important public issues,” he said.
He further said that the farmers across the Valley are facing difficulties due to the shortage of fertilizer.
Mir requested Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to make a personal intervention for the swift redressal of these public issues.
The participants also had thorough discussions over certain party matters. They decided to enhance the public outreach campaign to strengthen the party further in far-flung areas across the Valley.
Prominent party leaders who were present on the occasion included vice president Zafar Iqbal Manhas, vice president Javaid Mustafa Mir, chief spokesperson Javaid Hassan Beigh, general secretary Rafi Ahmad Mir, additional general secretary Hilal Ahmad Shah, Provincial president, Kashmir, Mohammad Ashraf Mir, president of the party’s Youth Wing and Mayor SMC Junaid Azim Mattu, senior leader Yawar Dilawar Mir, DDC Aftab Malik, Media Advisor Farooq Andrabi and others.
