JAMMU, Dec 17: Akhil Bhartiya Gujjar Mahasabha held series of meetings under the chairmanship of its State president Eshfaq-ur-Rehman Poswal at Rajouri and Poonch districts and discussed various issues of the ST community people residing in remote villages of the districts.
During the week long visit to Rajouri and Poonch districts, Poswal discussed various issues including non implementation of tribal sub plan, mismanagement in PMGSY, up-gradation of schools, veterinary dispensary, health dispensaries, pension scheme, Panchayat Ghar constructions etc in ST dominated areas.
He also nominated Dr Azam and Sarpanch Abdul Aziz as block presidents of Doongi and Darhal block respectively.
While speaking, he said that the Government has ignored the tribal areas of Rajouri and Poonch districts and also failed to implement Centrally sponsored schemes such as tribal sub plan, PMGSY, NRHM, RGGY, NREWP, etc.
Poswal said that the funds are not released in time resulting in to lapse of the same, due to weak management and ignorance by Government of the remote villages which are suffering badly due to lack of road, water, electricity, etc and the people of the areas are still there where they earlier were.
Poswal appealed the Government to hold Block Development Council elections with 73rd Amendment and political reservation of ST community.
Meanwhile, Poswal said if the Government failed to redress the highlighted issues, Akhil Bhartiya Gujjar Mahasabha will launch a crusade against the Government and for any untoward incident, it will be responsible.
