JAMMU, Oct 11: For affecting of Plastic Waste Management and elimination of Single Use Plastic, Government of Jammu Kashmir today constituted Plastic Waste Management Cell at Divisional, District and ULB Level besides District Level Special Task Force.
Headed by the concerned Divisional Commissioner or Deputy Commissioner or the Chief Executive Officer/ Executive Officer of the respective ULB, these Cells shall effectively implement the Action Plan on elimination of single use plastic and the Plastic Waste Management Rules, 2016 in Jammu and Kashmir.
The District Level Task Force shall mobilize and build strong public movement for elimination of single use plastic by ensuring wider public participation, including educational institutions, NC, NSS Scouts, Youth Clubs and voluntary organizations.
The Task Force shall also monitor strict implementation of the UT level Comprehensive Action Plan for elimination of single use plastic in the district.
