Govt forms committee for effective implementation of NDD Scheme

JAMMU, May 20: Government today accorded sanction to the constitution of an Administrative Secretary, Agriculture Production Department-led committee for the effective implementation and monitoring of Namo Drone Didi (NDD) Scheme.
As per an order, the committee shall comprise of Administrative Secretary, Rural Development & Panchayati Raj Department, Administrative Secretary, Cooperatives Department, Vice-Chancellors of twin Agricultural Universities in Jammu and Kashmir SKUAST-Jammu and SKUAST-Kashmir, Registrar Cooperatives, Directors Agriculture Jammu/Kashmir, Directors Horticulture Jammu/Kashmir, Directors Extension SKUAST Jammu/Kashmir, representative from Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India (nominated by the concerned Ministry), representative from Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India (to be nominated by the concerned Ministry), representative from Ministry of Fertilizer, Government of India (to be nominated by the concerned Ministry), Convenor, UTLBC, Chief General Manager, NABARD, and State Manager of Lead Fertilizer Company (IPL), as Members and MD, J&K Rural Livelihood Mission, as Member Secretary.
The committee so constituted has been tasked with selecting appropriate clusters for drone usage, members of the women SHGs for drone pilot and drone assistant training, assessing district-wise drone usage, availability and existing gap and identifying the future requirements, providing/ensuring business to selected women SHGs in coordination with the Lead Fertilizer Companies (LFCs) and Pesticide Companies etc., and selecting progressive women SHGs under DAY-NRLM in the Union Territory in the identified clusters for providing drones.
