Govt forms committees for Swachh Bharat Mission implementation

JAMMU, Dec 31: Government today constituted committees for implementation of the Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM-2.0) in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
These include UT High Powered Committee (UTHPC), UT Level Technical Committee (UTLTC) and District Level Committees (DLCs).
Headed by the Chief Secretary, the UTHPC shall approve the overall UT Action Plan for achieving SBM objectives with planning for fund flow in the short, medium and long term and consider additional resource mobilization wherever required.
It shall approve the selection of clusters so that common infrastructure could be shared between a group of cities/towns/contiguous rural areas and ensure that land free from encumbrances is made available for setting up necessary infrastructure.
The committee shall be comprising Chairman, JK Pollution Control Committee; Administrative Secy, housing & Urban Development Department; Administrative Secy, Department of Forest, Ecology and Environment; Administrative Secy Jal Shakti Department; Commissioner JMC/SMC; Mission Director , SBM-Grameen; Director Urban Local Bodies, Jammu/Kashmir; representative of MoHUA, GoI, Mission Director, SBM-Urban and Chief Engineer, J&K, UEED as the Members.
The UT Level Technical Committee, headed by Administrative Secretary, Housing & Urban Development, shall review the DPRs and projects relating to Sanitation, Solid Waste Management, used water management, IEC and CB as recommended by the ULBs.
It shall prepare the UT action plan with annual timelines and facilitate use of IT enabled tools and solutions for preparation of DPRs and approve projects for uploading on Proposal Tracking System for fund release.
The District Level Committee(s) shall be headed by the Deputy Commissioner of the concerned district and review all aspects of convergence between SBM Urban 2.0 with SBM-Grameen, while implementing the respective Missions.
It shall approve the overall plan for achieving SBM-2.0 objectives and review the preparation of CSAP and CSWAP and preparation of the DPRs.
