Govt frames panel on State Medicinal Plants Board

JAMMU, Sept 25: The State Government has constituted State Level Monitoring & Evaluation Committee of J&K State Medicinal Plants Board.
Administrative Secretary, Health & Medical Education Department will be the Chairman of the committee. Chief Executive Officer of J&K State Medicinal Plants Board will be the Member Secretary, while seven other members are- Principal Chief Conservator of Forests J&K, Director Indian System of Medicines, Director Horticulture Department Jammu/ Kashmir, Director Floriculture, HoD Agro-Forestry SKUAST Jammu/ Kashmir, HoD Botany University of Jammu/ Kashmir and Nodal Officer, J&K State Medicinal Plants Board.
The Committee has been authorized to monitor all schemes/ projects/ programmes under Medicinal Plants sector in the State funded by Ministry of AYUSH Government of India; constitute Divisional/ District Level Monitoring Committees comprising of experts from various departments for development of Medicinal Plants sector and conservation of rare and endangered species in the State; make necessary recommendation based on the evaluation of the progress of scheme and submit to Governing Body of State Medicinal Plants Board and also the National Board and so on. The committee shall meet twice a year.
