BBP chairman, Girdhari Lal Bhagat, addressing the media persons at Jammu on Wednesday.

JAMMU, Apr 24: The Bhartiya Bahujan Party (BBP) today alleged that Dalits and Backwards in J&K State have been fully ignored for the last so many decades and the reservation policy is being misunderstood all over the Nation.
Addressing a press conference here today,  Girdhari Lal Bhagat, Chairman, Bhartiya Bahujan Party, raised various issues for the welfare of the downtrodden sections of the society. He urged the Government to rationalize its various schemes including proper education, hygiene, old age pension, handicapped pension meant for downtrodden sections of the society, in a proper way so that these schemes may benefit the real beneficiaries.
Daily Wagers are the backbone of any department and no department can function smoothly without the day-in and day -out duties of these poor daily wagers but the departments are not worried about these poor workers and instead are benefitting contractors and businessmen, Bhagat maintained.
The Government  should make a clear and transparent policy in favor of these Daily Wagers and regularize those who have completed their seven year tenure as daily wagers, he added.
He further said that politics in National as well as State level has been dominated by vested interest groups and suppressed by higher castes while downtrodden have been totally ignored.
He also stressed upon the need of Small Scale Industries all over India to uplift the downtrodden and poor section of the society. The issue of Refugees was also raised by Bhagat, who said that their resettlement  should be done with honour and dignity by making proper amendments in the laws.
