Govt honours martyrs by renaming infrastructure

JAMMU, Aug 6: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has order renaming several schools, colleges, roads, and other infrastructure across the Union Territory to honor martyrs and eminent personalities.
The move is part of the continued initiative to pay tribute to individuals who have made exceptional contributions to society or sacrificed their lives in the line of duty. Government Order No. 1462-JK (GAD) of 2024, dated August 6, 2024, was issued in this regard.

Govt High School, Doodkul, Kokernag has been named after HC Fayaz Ahmad Raina while Government Girls Primary School, Brariangan, Anantnag has been named after Ct Babar Ahmad Khan.
Government Primary School, Kralpora, Mattan has been named after Ct. Gulzar Ahmad Najar while Government Middle School, Herkhal, Khiram has been named after Ct Farooq Ahmad Reshi.
Government Middle School, Issoo, Achabal has been named after Ct Sheeraz Ahmad Bhat while Street/Link Road from New Colony Garoora to Aragan Chittibanday has been named after Ct Dilawar Ahmad Ganie.

Government Middle School, Tangdaji Kralkhani has been named after Sgct Abdul Rahim Lone while the name of Ct Fayaz Ahmad Bhat has been prefixed to Government Boys Middle School, Barkati Mohalla Safapora.

Administrative Secretaries have been tasked with amending records while Divisional Commissioners will monitor the renaming process, and Deputy Commissioners will ensure that appropriate events are held to commemorate the renaming.
