Govt Hospital Mendhar awaits land demarcation

POONCH, Oct 31: Despite several reminders issued by the Block Medical Officer Mendhar to concerned authorities no demarcation work of Sub District Hospital (SDH) land has been started.
Dr Prevez Ahmed Khan, BMO Mendhar said that he has informed a number of times about the encroachment by locals on the Hospital land in Mendher through several communiques to Revenue department Mendhar. It is highly surprising that till date no action or any sort of land demarcation work of the SDH has taken place, Dr Parvez added.
The BMO said hospital premises is being used for dumping construction material by the locals, who have been raising illegal structures around the boundary wall putting the patients of the hospital as well as their attendants to health hazards besides creating hurdles in smooth functioning of the hospital.
Dr Parvez further added that SDH Mendhar has a total land of 18.6 kanals vide Khasra No 69 min 6 kanals, Khasra No. 70 min 5.10 kanals, Khasra No 100 min 5.19 kanals and Khasra No 101 min 17 marlas in accordance with Revenue records.
Since the Revenue department has failed to take any initiative, the locals have expressed their resentment against the Revenue authorities . They alleged that concerned authorities have remained unmoved and showing reluctance in initiating demarcation work.
