SRINAGAR, Aug 29: The State Government has constituted a committee to identify alternate sites for dumping of Municipal Solid Waste in Kashmir.
Headed by Commissioner SMC as convenor, the committee shall conduct spot inspection of the 15 sites, suggested by the residents of Achan, Srinagar and report whether these sites can be developed for dumping of Municipal solid waste in terms of MSW Rules, 2000 and 2016. The committee will submit its report within three days, positively.
Members of the committee, include Deputy Commissioner of the concerned district, Regional Director of the State Pollution Control Board, Director Geology & Mining, J&K or his representative, Director Agriculture, Kashmir Director Horticulture Kashmir and Under Secretary H&UDD.
