BILLAWAR, June 10: Former minister Dr Manohar Lal Sharma today alleged that present Government was ignoring the genuine issues and concerns of the people from different sections of society.
Addressing a public meeting at Mandli in Billawar constituency today Manohar castigated the Central Government, stating that the hollow policies of government have only resulted in increasing the sufferings of the people manifold. He said that BJP befooled the people with its hollow promises before the elections and the common people today realize that they have been totally betrayed by them. He said the young lot has suffered a lot due to anti-youth policies adopted by the Centre.
The former minister said that the people of entire Billawar constituency have been facing acute hardships due to the lack of basic amenities. He appealed the people of Jammu and Kashmir to teach BJP a lesson by extending full support to meritorious candidates in the forthcoming Assembly elections in the interest of people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Manohar said that BJP has ignored the basic and genuine issues of the people with the result, there has been enormous increase in the hardship of the people in the JK UT. He referred to the anti-youth policies of the present dispensation and manifold hike in the prices of all essential commodities besides problems of water, electricity and essential civic facilities. He flayed the Modi led BJP Govt for imposing heavy taxes thus breaking the backbone of common man.
He said that BJP government is not serious about meeting the basic needs of the people. He targeted the government, claiming that its nine years rule was marked by perpetual confrontation with the Opposition, unaccountable centralization of power and authoritarian style of functioning.
