Srinagar, Aug 22: The Government has issued show cause notice to a senior faculty member of Government Medical College Srinagar after Inquiry Officer last year recommended full-fledged inquiry against him.
The Inquiry Officer, the then Commissioner Secretary Science and Technology and Information and Technology Department, Bipul Pathak inquired into the role of various faculty members in the infant deaths at Valley’s lone child care hospital last year.
The Government had ordered inquiry (Vide Govt Order No. 16 GAD of 2013 dated 15-02-2013) last year and appointed Bipul Pathak as the Inquiry Officer to inquire charges against Dr Javaid Chowdhary and other persons. Dr Chowdary, however, was exonerated by the inquiry team and they suggested full-fledged inquiry against Dr Kaiser.
Former HoD Paediatrics, Dr Kaisar Ahmad who is presently Nodal Officer GMC, Anantnag, has been served the notice by Pathak on 12th of this month to “explain your position in the matter within 15 days, failing which further action as provided under rules will follow”.
