Govt misleading, demands not accepted: JCC leader

JAMMU, Oct 3: Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) of the State Government employees has claimed that Government was trying to mislead the masses on the strike announced by the employees as the main demands are yet to be addressed.
Talking to media-persons here today senior JCC leader Mohd Gafoor Dar today appealed the employees from all the departments and Public Sector Undertakings that they should participate in Kam Choorh Hartal on Oct 4 and 5. He also condemned the attitude of the State Government for gagging the voice of the employees. He said despite oppressive measures adopted by the Government and crack down on the employeres leaders, the JCC would go ahead with its pen down strike on Oct 4 and 5.
While reacting to statement of Government that it has already agreed all the three demands of the employees, Dar said that Government was trying to mislead the masses and create wedge. Infact it has not honoured its commitment/ agreement till date. He also demanded that all the arrested employees be freed. Nazir Ahmed Moulvi, Rajinder Kumar, Darshan Singh, Moulvi Muneer Ahmed, Vikramjeet Singh and Vijay Choudhary also accompanied.
Meanwhile, Plus 2 Lecturers’ Forum in its meeting held under the chairmanship of N S Jamwal condemned the lathicharge on peacefully striking employees and their arrest by police. While according full support to the agitating employees the Forum members appealed the Government to release all the arrested persons.
All J&K School Education Non Teaching Employees Forum led by B B Kotwal also condemned lathicharge on employees and their arrest. The Forum appealed the employees to participate in the agitational programme on Oct 4 and 5.
