JAMMU: June 2: Criticising Govt for being more focussed on headline management than the crisis management, former Minister and senior Congress leader, Raman Bhalla today claimed that BJP Govt seemed totally confused with regard to dealing with COVID-19 crisis, adding that when there were 500 COVID-19 cases, the Government had decided to go for lockdown and now when the cases have reached around 1.8 lakh, then lockdown norms have been eased, except for containment zones.
“The Government should take precautions and the people also. Everything is open now, so the Centre should especially focus on health facilities, as that is the only solution for COVID-19,” former Minister said.
He said mismanagement has been observed in the last one year, more particularly during the Coronavirus crisis, adding that it has been managed very badly as far as the migrants and the poor are concerned and instead of giving solution, Govt has let the people down in this crisis.
Bhalla strongly regretted that when whole world was facing COVID-19 crisis, BJP leaders from Jammu were busy giving hype to meagre works like laying foundation stones for land-filling or inauguration of lanes, and by-lanes, when as per established rules they were not supposed to do so which was only aimed to score political brownie scores amid crisis in J&K.
“Having failed to show any significant development to the people of Jammu, who voted them to power, the BJP is making its erstwhile lawmakers inaugurate such works, to make their presence felt after failing on all fronts while in power in J&K,” Bhalla said.
Meanwhile fulfilling duties and responsibilities of leader of poor and down-trodden in this hour of crisis, former Minister on today distributed ration items at Panchayat Malik Market, Panchayat Narwal in Bhagatpur Mohalla, Harijan Mohalla, GTB Nagar, Satalite Colony and Rajput Mohalla.
