JAMMU, July 9:  The Jammu and Kashmir unit of Shiv Sena Bal Thackeray has expressed serious concern over the problems being faced by Shri Amarnath Ji pilgrims in the State who are being denied proper facilities by administration as well as Shrine Board.
Addressing a press conference here Shiv Sena Bhawan, senior leader Rakesh Gupta, State President, Dimpy Kolhi and G.I Singh said that Jammu and Kashmir government opted anti-Hindu approach and neglected the Shri Amarnath Ji pilgrims, who came here from various parts of the country and aboard. They said that all facilities including registration, medical check up to pilgrims is not up to the mark.
Thousands of pilgrims wander here and there to get themselves registered for undergoing yatra but State government does not cooperate with them, they added.
. Kohli said beside other locations registration counter should be opened at Yatri Niwas Bhagwati Nagar, the base camp of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra. He said that in absence of the registration counter at base camp Bhagwati Nagar pilgrims faced problems. Dimpy Kohli also said that the facilities provided by Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board are expensive and not up to mark. He said at base camp Rs 1200 are charged for boarding for accommodation, which is unacceptable and illogical.
He said besides there is irregular supply of water at the base camp and the water that comes is usually contaminated thus unfit for drinking purpose. Criticizing the high-headiness of Traffic Police, Kolhi said in the broad day light it loots the pilgrims and openly charge hafta from the pilgrim buses. He urged the government to mend its way and streamline the yatra otherwise Shiv Sena will launch a massive agitation.
