Govt neglecting pensioners, busy in welfare of MLAs, MLCs: AJKSPA

JAMMU, Oct 7:  The State Government is interested only in the welfare of Ministers and Legislators while pensioners and employees are being neglected, said general secretary All J&K State Pensioners’ Association (AJKSPA), Madan Lal Abrol, in a press conference held here today.
The Government’s attitude to neglect the pensioners is highly unethical and discriminatory, he said, adding it failed to accede to the demands of the pensioners.
Abrol warned the Government to fulfill their demands or be ready to face an aggressive agitation throughout the length and breadth of the State.
Criticizing the statement made by the State Finance Minister in the Assembly that 3rd  Installment of the arrear has been made, he alleged that it is not true, as it was due in the month of March 2013.
Our demand of the enhancing medical allowance has not been accepted by the Government whereas the legislators are enjoying the enhanced medical allowance of Rs 3000 per month, he added.
Others demands highlighted by Abrol included pension on Central Government according to increase in age , benefit of SRO 51, 57 to the  pensioners with effect from January 1, 2006, release of 10% DA from July 2013, issuance of identity cards for medical purposes, etc.
BL Upadyay, Retired Judge Pavitar Singh, Mukand Lal Sharma, Jasrotia, Madan Lal Sharma, Bhushan Pargal, Dev Raj Gupta and Mohd Shafi also spoke.
