SRINAGAR, Feb 1: Former minister and senior leader of Jammu Kashmir Peoples Conference Abdul Gani Vakil today expressed serious concern over the deteriorating administrative system in Jammu and Kashmir under the Lt Governor.
Vakil in a press statement issues here today said that the rural development and education are the worst hit and the Government is visible on papers and orders only and nothing is visible on the ground. He said the irony is that most of the blocks are without Block Development Officers (BDO).
“In some cases, one BDO has been given charge of three or more blocks. The development works have come to the halt. The Government has failed to deliver as the system in place is full with faults,” he added.
Vakil said similarly the Education department is also in the mess. In a reference, Vakil said several districts are without Chief Education Officers while around 30 Educational blocks across the valley are without Zonal Heads which has left the whole education system in shambles.
He said over 100 schools in the valley are without Principals. “Many are without salaries…how will the system function. ”
“The future of our future generation seems bleak. The student community is already suffering because of the internet blockade, this deteriorating condition of overall education system has further created havoc,” Vakil said.
He stressed upon the Lt Governor to take serious notice of the problem.
