JAMMU, Aug 29: The Government today ordered a high-level inquiry into various irregularities committed while making 97 promotions of non-gazetted employees in the Government Medical College (GMC), Jammu and its Associated Hospitals by the previous Principal Dr Zahid Jeelani.
The four-member Committee, which will probe the irregularities, comprised Mohammad Rafeeq, Director Finance in Health and Medical Education Department, Naseer Ahmad Wani, Additional Secretary in Health and Medical Education Department, Ansuya Jamwal, Personal Officer, GMC Jammu and Tara Chand, Assistant Accounts Officer, SMGS Hospital Jammu.
An order to this effect has been issued by Dr Pawan Kotwal, Principal Secretary to Government, Health and Medical Education Department.
The irregularities in the promotions had caused financial loss to the State exchequer, the Government Order said.
