Govt panel to examine revised draft Bill 2011 of Goods & Service Tax

JAMMU, Oct 5: To examine the revised draft Constitution Bill 2011 of Goods and Service Tax with respect to provisions of the State Constitution, the J&K Government has constituted a committee.
The six-member committee, headed by J&K Advocate General, will examine the revised draft Constitution (one hundred and fifteenth Amendment) Bill 2011 and suggest exclusion, inclusion or any provision to safeguard the special status guaranteed to the State by Indian Constitution.
The panel will prepare exact and precise response of the State Government to the proposed revised draft Constitution keeping in view the Constitutional and Fiscal Autonomy and submit its report within two week, said a Government order in this regard.
Other members of the committee, include, Secretary Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Commissioner Commercial taxes, Gourav Pachnanda (Senior Additional Advocate General), Khawaja Bashir Ahmed (former Commissioner Commercial Taxes, J&K) and one Constitutional expert, who will be nominated by the Advocate General.
