Govt panel to monitor progress on development of Small Hydro Projects

JAMMU, Aug 27: To review and monitor the progress on development of Micro, Mini and Small Hydro projects in J&K, the Union Territory Government today constituted a committee.
Headed by Administrative Secretary PDD, the committee shall monitor the progress on identification and development of Micro, Mini and Small Hydro Projects under execution in the Union Territory of J&K.
It shall examine/ review the Draft policy for development of Micro, Mini and Small Hydro Power Project 2024 framed by JAKEDA and Draft J&K Hydro Power Policy 2024 framed by Power Development Department and lay down the framework for notification and implementation of the comprehensive policy for J&K.
Further, the committee shall facilitate the creation of conducive environment for attracting private sector investment in the development of Micro, Mini and Small Hydro Projects in J&K and co-ordinate with concerned line departments for securing expeditious statutory clearances/ approvals required for the same.
Administrative secretaries of Science & Technology Department, Revenue, PW(R&B) and representatives of Forest and Jal Shakti Department are Members of the committee while Chief Executive Officer, JAKEDA is the Member Secretary.
