Govt plans to provide digital X-ray facilities in Distt Hospitals

SRINAGAR, June 27: Minister for Health and Medical Education, Bali Bhagat today informed the House that in order to improve patient care at secondary level, the department is providing CT Scan facilities at district level and as part of this, 4 CT Scan machines have been installed at district hospitals Anantnag, Kulgam, Baramulla and Kupwara.
Replying to a Calling Attention Notice by Bashir Ahmed Dar, the Minister said that similarly, since digital X-ray facilities are not available at district hospital level, the department is planning to provide digital X-ray equipment at district hospital level in the first instance for which projection has been made in the PM’s package. He said, however, primary health centers do not qualify for such facilities.
The Minister said that after all the district hospitals get equipped with such facilities the department would examine the need and possibility of setting up of CT Scan and Digital X-ray at SDH level subject to availability of resources.
The Minister said that X-ray facilities are already available at SDH Kupwara, SDH Kralpora and PHC Trehgam.
