JAMMU, June 23: Strongly criticizing the Government for its callousness and gross incompetence, the PDP president Mehbooba Mufti has expressed her anguish over the leakage of Biology paper in the Common Entrance Test (CET-2013) conducted by the Board of Professional Entrance Examination (BOPEE) on Saturday.
In a press statement issued here today, Mehbooba Mufti said, “the paper leakage at some examination centers, shows how casually things which have direct bearing on the future of the children are being taken here. Such unjustified acts only result into the loss of faith in the system.”
She further alleged that NC-led Government was playing with the future of our youngsters and has been able to do no good to them on any score. “The costly error in the entrance test conducted by the BOPEE was the only latest in the series of brazen frauds attributed to the process over the past few years”, she added.
The PDP leader alleged that the Government by its own acts, has destroyed and brought to the naught every institution which was crucial to the growth and development of the nation. “ BOPEE is an important institution through which cream of our society is selected to study medicines, engineering etc, but the casual and unprofessional approach of handling things was unacceptable, she maintained.
The PDP president questioned, “what sort of message was being given to the youth who put in huge toil and sweat to appear in this prestigious examination? This is not happening for the first time, as in past too, papers have been leaked,” she said and added that this was the height of dereliction of duties which not only has given rise to the apprehensions but put students to huge stress and confusion. She alleged that Government has lost moral authority to enforce discipline as it has lost the grip on administration.
Meanwhile, PDP president has asked the State Government to rescue J&K residents who have been trapped in flash floods in Uttrakhand. In a statement here, the PDP leader expressed surprise that all State Governments have deputed teams to rescue the struck citizens of their respective states but it is unfortunate that J&K Government has taken no step in this regard so far. It has been learnt that a large number of pilgrims from Jammu have been trapped in Uttrakhand and their families are feeling helpless. Morethan a week has passed after this tragedy but the State Government has remained unmoved, she regretted.
