Govt Polytechnic Jammu starts online classes for students

JAMMU, Mar 25: Government Polytechnic Jammu has started the online classes for its students in all the Engineering stream due to the prevailing situation in view of Coronavirus threat.
According to the College Principal, Er Arun Bangotra, all the HODs and teaching faculty have created the Google classroom in all the subjects of Engineering for the students and WhatsApp group, which are monitored daily by him . “In last one week all the students of the college have joined the classes. Through the various WhatsApp group created by the HODs, all the students were informed to download the Google Classroom app from playstore and create the account by an email, click on + symbol and join the class by entering the subject/class code provided by the subject Faculty,” he explained.
Er Bangotra further said that this step was taken so that studies of the students may not suffer due to lockdown of the college because of current situation. “The students are being provided all the study material, notes, handouts, ppts, video lectures and assignments online on WhatsApp group, Google Classrooms and through emails,” he added and offered all the Polytechnic students of the Jammu and Kashmir to take the benefit of these Google Classroom by sharing their contact details on college official Email id/Facebook/Instagram page.
“All the students are further advised to take the benefit by registering on Swayam portal for various Engineering online courses and National Education Alliance for Technology (NEAT) and initiative of AICTE for enhancing the employability skills of students by collaborating with various Education Technology Companies free of cost,” said the Principal.
