Govt prioritized development of border, hilly areas: Shabir

RAJOURI, June 19:  Reiterating the commitment of the Government to ensure holistic development of all the regions of the State with special focus on border and hilly areas, the Minister of State for Health, Shabir Ahmad Khan has said the Government’s pro-people policies and exemplary initiatives have marched the State on the track of peace and prosperity. He affirmed that this tempo would be carried forward with a mission to ensure all-round development of rural as well as border people.
Addressing public meetings at Pangrian Paryali border villages, in Rajouri, the Minister announced release of Rs 10 lakh for construction of Sub-Health Center (SHC) of the village. He said a project report of Rs 1.40 crore has been submitted to Centre for funding under R-APRDP to upgrade the power infrastructure in the area. He said construction work on 6.3 MVA Receiving Station at Ghambair Brahmana is apace and concerned executing agency has been directed for its time bound completion.
He said after its commissioning it would benefit a large population of the area. He said construction work on Water Supply Scheme, Pangrian has been also taken up at an estimated cost of Rs 4 .78 crore and assured the people that it would be completed in stipulated time frame keeping in view water scarcity in the area.
The Minister said that people fastened their hopes with public representatives and asked the Panchs and Sarpanchs to work sincerely for welfare and development of the people, who gave them their self-assurances. He said that primary responsibility of the public representatives is to go to the people for determining and addressing their problems through Government agencies.  He asked people to know their rights and seek due share in development process launched by the Government across the State.
