Govt ration seized, dealer arrested

JAMMU, Apr 16: RS Pura police seized 180 rice bags of 50 kilograms each and arrested a dealer of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department.
As per police sources, on the complaint of Ram Lal SDM RS Pura to the effect that a person namely Ramesh Chander, son of Bhagat Ram, a resident of Chakrohi who is a dealer of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department had dumped the Government ration and shifted the same to somewhere else. The shifting of Government ration could be with the involvement of officials of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department for illegal selling in order to earn more money.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 65/2020 under section 409 IPC and 3/7 EC Act was registered at RS Pura Police Station and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, police team led by SHO RS Pura Inspector Jai Paul Sharma under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Shabir Khan seized 180 rice bags of 50 kg each of Punjab Agro/FCI and arrested the ration dealer.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
