JAMMU, Dec 15: The State Government today re-constituted the Board of Directors of Schedule Caste, Schedule Tribe and Backward Classes Development Corporation with Minister of Social Welfare Sajjad Ahmed Lone as its Chairman.
The Board of the Corporation was dissolved by the Government in 2015 and it was reconstituted after a gap of two years.
Balbir Ram Rattan has been appointed as Vice Chairperson while Administrative Secretary, Planning Monitoring & Development Department, Administrative Secretary Finance Department, Administrative Secretary Social Welfare Department, Administrative Secretary, Tribal Affairs Department, Representative of Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, GoI, Representative of Ministry of Tribal Affairs, GoI were nominated as its directors.
Besides, representative of National SC Finance and Development Corporation, New Delhi, representative of National ST Finance & Development Corporation, New Delhi, representative of the National Handicapped Finance & Development Corporation, New Delhi, representative of the National Safai Karamcharis Finance & Development Corporation, New Delhi, representatives of the National Backward Classes Finance & Development Corporation, New Delhi and representative of National Minorities Finance & Development Corporation, New Delhi were appointed as nominee directors.
The Managing Director of the J&K SC,ST and BC Corporation, R K Pandita will act as Director / Member Secretary of the Board of Directors of the Corporation.
The order to this effect was issued here, by Social Welfare Department.
MD of the Corporation R K Pandita said that there is a lot of jubilation among the employees of the Corporation over the reconstitution of the Board as all the policy decisions of the Corporation rest with Board of Directors.
