JAMMU, Aug 18: Government has released an amount of Rs 286 crore on account of the salary of SSA Teachers on the recommendations of a high level committee.
The committee was constituted vide Government Order No 1263 GAD of 2018 dated 13.08.2018, to devise a comprehensive strategy to review the issues of all school teachers in the School Education Department including those funded under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA).
The committee in its recommendation asked the Government to release an amount of Rs 286 crore on account of the salary of SSA Teachers. Accordingly, the Directorate of Samagra Shiksha released the funds in favour of the concerned Chief Education Officers to clear the salary dues of SSA teachers for the months of February and June 2018.
Also, the concerned Chief Education Officers have been directed to ensure that the amount reaches to the account numbers of the concerned teachers well before Eid-u- Azha.
