JAMMU, June 8: The State Government today issued directions for revocation of termination orders of NHM employees in the State whose services were terminated in the month of February 2019 because of unauthorised absence from the duties.
The terminated employees had submitted representations in the various offices of the State for revocation of termination orders citing great distress being faced by their families.
“The employees had proceeded on strike and started dharnas and hunger strike for pushing the fulfillment of their demands that caused great sufferings to the provision of health care delivery to the general masses, compounded by the prevailing extreme weather conditions across the State,” a Government release said.
It stated that the administration at that time had continued to make vehement appeals repeatedly to the erring NHM employees to resume work at their places to mitigate the problems of the general public in the rural areas accentuated by the unusual inclement weather and road conditions.
“The District Health Societies under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioners had initiated action against 399 employees who failed to resume the work even after the notices were served to the employees to resume work,” it further stated.
According to the release, the employees shall be reinstated subject to the condition that each of the terminated employee will submit an affidavit duly attested by First Class Judicial Magistrate in this regard that hence forth they shall not associate with any anti-Government organisation/association nor be part of any programme affecting the delivery of healthcare system in future.
