JAMMU : The State Government today handed over ex-gratia relief of Rs one lakh to the next of kin of two persons killed in overnight firing by Pakistani troops in R S Pura belt of Jammu district.
Minister of State for Home, Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo today visited the border hamlets where two persons were killed and five others were injured in overnight firing by Pakistani troops and handed over ex-gratia relief of Rs one lakh to the next of kin of the deceased persons and Rs 10,000 to those injured in the firing, an official spokesman said.
The Minister met the families of the deceased persons and expressed heartfelt condolence.
He told the bereaved families that the people of the entire state share their grief, adding that the Government would take every measure to ensure safety and security of the life and property of the people of border areas.
He directed the administration to provide all basic amenities to the affected people.
Inspector General of Police (IGP), Rajesh Kumar, Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, Ajeet Kumar Sahu, senior officers of BSF and local administration accompanied the Minister. (AGENCIES)
