SRINAGAR, Nov 8: The Cabinet Minister, Javed Rana, said today that the Government has sought reports from various locations regarding allegations of substandard material use in the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in J&K.
He made this statement on the Assembly floor shortly after two members from Inderwal and Ramban raised the issue.
“There have been complaints regarding procurement, work execution, and substandard work. We have requested reports from multiple areas, and I assure you we will order an inquiry into the matter,” he said, adding that action will be taken wherever lapses are found.
He also acknowledged the shortage of manpower in the Jal Shakti Department, stating that within the next 10 days, vacancies will be filled through promotions. “We are also referring posts to the recruitment agency,” he added.
