JAMMU, Feb 28: All J&K 1947 PoJK Sharnarthi Intellectual Forum in an emergency meeting of its core committee members under the presidentship of Adv Amrik Singh, welcomed the high level team deputed by the Union Home Minister to access the issues pertaining to PoJK DPs of 1947 and that of WP refugees and also prevailing security situation in J&K UT.
The Forum expressed its gratitude to the Govt with the hope that the Centre is optimistic and appears to be serious over the long pending issues of PoJK displaced persons like comprehensive package of Rs 30 lakhs per family and out of Rs 30 lakh on amount of Rs 5.50 lakh already got released and now waiting for pending Rs 24.5 lakhs in one instalment.
The Forum members pointed out that 36918 families got registered in the year 1954 and about 9200 families who settled out of state in year 1947, are not got registered so far where as only 9000 families have got allotted land at the scale of 4 acre irrigated and 6 acre non- irrigated and rest of about 25918 families are still landless.
The Forum reiterated that till dated DPs of POJK 1947 Sharnarthi are not got settled properly they are living in campus like Bhaur Camp, Simbal camp, Badyal Brahmana, Satraiyan Camp, Gol Gujral camp and many other camps pertaining in District Kathua in a very unhygienic conditions.
The Forum urged upon the high level team visiting the UT to take the sensitive issues of PoJK displaced persons with the Ministry of Home Affairs on priority and in the meanwhile release pending package of Rs 24.50 lakhs.
The meeting was attended by Inder Singh Soodan Corporator, Paramjit Singh, Sucha Singh- Corporator, Tirath Kaur Corporator, Sudesh Sharma, Kuldeep Singh, Parshotam Lal, Ghansham Sharma and others.
