JAMMU, Jan 14: Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Parkash Ganga today said the present Government has left an indelible mark on the democratic profile of the State with its visionary leadership and a firm determination of ensuring transparent, accountable and responsive governance to the people.
The Minister stated this while addressing at a public gathering after laying foundation stone for development of a playfield, lanes and drains here today.
The Minister said that we have set an example of good governance in Jammu and Kashmir by giving a real meaning to democratic institutions in the State. He said that people will not have to repent for their decision of electing us as their representatives as the Government is working hard to revamp and revolutionize every part of the administration for a prompt and hassle-free public delivery system.
“We are committed to weed out corruption and malpractices by putting in place a reformed and transformed dispensation for the people”, he asserted.
Exhorting the people to optimally utilize welfare and development schemes, the Minister said that Government’s prime concern is to extend benefit of all programmes to people but they too have a responsibility towards building a strong and progressed nation.
The construction work on playing field with an estimated cost of Rs. 10 lakh at Palli village in Bari Brahmana under 14 FC besides lanes and drains to be constructed with Rs. 10 lakh at Kamala village in Vijaypur under convergence of CDF with MGNREGA have been started and the Minister directed the executing agencies to expedite the works and complete them in a time bound manner.
Referring to the execution of development works for which he laid the foundation stones, the Minister said that this was a long pending demand which has been fulfilled with the earnest efforts of locals. He asked the executing agencies to ensure that these works are completed in time with proper maintenance of qualitative and quantitative parameters
The Minister, while elaborating on Government’s initiatives of developing rural areas at par with urban parts, said that it is a matter of great satisfaction that now with the provision of better and modern facilities raised in rural areas the people have started moving back to their villages.
