JAMMU, Nov 15: Vice-president of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for Jammu Province, Amit Kapoor today demanded the Government to regularize the CIC operators working in the Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department for more than two decades and increase their monthly salary.
Addressing a press conference here today, Amit Kapoor said the CIC operators working in the Rural Development Department have been serving for the last almost two decades but their salary was not increased nor were they regularized. He said that justice has not been given to these CIC operators due to which their families are facing financial crunch.
He said that J&K administration did not pay heed to the genuine problems of CIC operators despite completing all the codal formalities regarding their regularization. He further said that in the year 2004, the CIC operators of RDDs have been appointed on the basis of merit through district level committees headed by the Deputy Commissioners constituted by the Government through proper recruitment process and since then they are working on salary of Rs 10,000 and are on contract basis in the department.
Kapoor said these are highly qualified degree holders who are doing all the online work efficiently on the web portals of the Department, besides doing all other office work like election, establishment, accounts work, etc at block, district, directorate and secretariat level but no increase in their monthly salary has been ordered by the Government in last 12 years.
He said that the CIC operators approached the Rural Development Department several times through representations for increase in their monthly wages but their request was not considered and the policy of evasion was always adopted in the matter.
The AAP leader urged Lieutenant Governor of J&K Manoj Sinha to intervene into the matter and give relief to CIC operators by solving their issues.
