Govt strengthening key institutions to ensure corruption free system: Zulfkar

JAMMU, Sept 17: Minister for Information, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali today said the Government has strengthened State Accountability Commission, State Vigilance Commission, State Information Commission and other institutions entrusted with the job of ensuring a transparent and corruption free system in the State.
The Minister was speaking during the 2nd foundation day celebration of Jammu Kashmir Against Corruption at Government College for Women, Gandhi Nagar.
Speaker, Legislative Assembly Kavinder Gupta, Chairperson, State Social Welfare Board Nirmal Kamal, MLC Pradeep Sharma, Director, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs R.A Inqalabi, Joint Controller Legal Metrology V.S Sambyal and other officers were present in the programme.
While addressing the gathering, the Minister said corruption hollows our system from within and there is a need for everyone to realize his responsibility towards making a corruption free India. “Not doing the assigned duty properly is also a kind of corruption,” the Minister said, adding that every individual should give his 100 per cent towards eradicating the menace of corruption from the society so that India emerges as the world leader.
