POONCH, May 10: A Government teacher, running a gas agency in Mendhar town was caught by police raiding party along with a young woman, from her rented room near Bharat Gas Agency, during mid day at Mendhar today.
A senior police officer told the Excelsior that acting on a specific information, Police party led by SHO Mendhar, Insp Abid Rafiqi conducted raid and caught the accused, Raj Kumar, owner of the gas agency along with young woman and were taken to Police Station. The incident took place at around 12 noon and a large number of people of the locality came out of their houses after coming to know about the police raid. Both were detained in the Police Station.
SHO, Abdi Rafiqi when contacted said that an information was received that a woman hailing from Bihar was running sex racket for the last several months in the area and owner of the gas agency, Raj Kumar resident of Jhallas ( Poonch), said to be a Govt teacher, was inside her room. The police raided the room and caught both from there. SHO said they were sitting and apparently had not indulged in the sex. Both were detained in Police Station under 55/109 CrPC and were bailed out during late this evening by Ist Class Magistrate. He said woman hails from Bihar and her husband works as mason here in Mendhar town.
