Visits Chamliyal shrine, historic Bamuchak temple

SAMBA, Oct 9: Meenakshi Lekhi, Union Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture today said that Narendra Modi Government has taken many steps for the development of border areas in Jammu and Kashmir to boost the economy of the people living in this belt.
Talking to reporters on the sidelines of her visit to Chamliyal area of Ramgarh tehsil of Samba district, the Minister said that BJP Government led by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has launched many schemes for the welfare and prosperity of people living in border belt of J&K and the main thrust has been given to promotion of border tourism.
She said the main purpose of her public outreach programme was to monitor these schemes and ascertain whether the public has been benefitted by them or not.
Lekhi said that Prime Minister also wanted that the Ministers should visit the length and breadth of the country to monitor the welfare schemes and seek public feedback.
She said all efforts are being made by the Modi Government to improve the living standard of the people living in border belt of J&K by promoting border tourism and developing the ancient shrines and temples which are the symbols of our ancient culture and monuments of our faith.

Lekhi who visited historic Bamuchak temple in Ramgarh and Baba Chamliyal shrine also said these shrines are the matter of faith as they represent our age old culture. She regretted that the temple is in dilapidated condition and assured that all steps will be taken to renovate and develop it to promote pilgrimage tourism in the area also.
She, while referring to the local people of the area said that both people and place are good. She said the traditional food grains produced in this area will be grown on modern techniques to boost the economy of farming community. She said stress has been given in promoting horticulture, agriculture by cultivating millet, mushroom, promoting preparation of pickle, honey and handicrafts through Self Help Groups are some of the schemes for the welfare of the people living in the border belt.
She said this visit is part of the Union Government’s ongoing efforts to connect with the people at the grassroots level and assess various Government initiatives.
In response to a question about the party’s performance in Assembly elections in various states going to polls next month, she expressed confidence about the BJP performing well in the forthcoming five Assembly polls and said the party workers were tirelessly serving the nation in sync with the prevailing political scenario.
“We are confident about doing well in all these states,” Lekhi told reporters here and said the BJP was making plans meticulously and carrying out extensine groundwork for the Assembly polls.
“The BJP, with its formidable cadre base, is strategically preparing for the upcoming polls in various states. We are in constant touch with the people and formulating a robust strategy,” she said.
The Union Minister said the BJP workers were serving the nation tirelessly in sync with the prevailing political scenario.
“Our workers are in direct contact with the people and are working hard towards our goal. In the forthcoming elections, we will present our manifesto and move forward with confidence,” she said.
About the recent terror attack in Israel and the safety of the Indians there, she said the Indian embassy is in constant communication with the authorities concerned and is vigilantly monitoring the situation.
During her visit, Meenakshi Lekhi conducted a thorough review of various Government departments, with a focus on understanding their performance and impact on the local community.
She initiated her visit with a visit to the historic Bamuchak Temple in Ramgarh. She closely inspected the ongoing restoration work, underlining the importance of preserving the region’s rich cultural heritage.
MoS received a warm welcome from the PRI members, including DDC members, BDC members, Sarpanchs, Panchs, and prominent members of the local community. The PRIs commended the Government for its various developmental works and took the opportunity to raise important issues for resolution.
Lekhi paid her respects at the revered Baba Chamliyal shrine in Ramgarh. She also visited the various border outposts in Ramgarh area.
During this event, she distributed sanction letters to beneficiaries of Government schemes.
Lekhi met a delegation of PRI members, which included DDC members, BDC members, Sarpanchs, Panchs, and prominent members of the local community from the Ramgarh area. She also officially flagged off the “Meri Maati Mera Desh Yatra” from the border block of Ramgarh Samba paying her respects to the martyrs who had made the ultimate sacrifice for the nation.
Lekhi expressed her appreciation for the progress made in the border regions and commended the efforts undertaken by the district administration to advance development initiatives. She emphasized that “Yahan Se Bharat Shuru Hota Hai Khatam Nahi Hota,” signifying the significance of border areas, and stated that Prime Minister, Modi’s vision is of “Border Samriddhi”. She stated that there is a need to promote the calico printing and bamboo usage in the region. She further praised the accelerated pace of development since 2014, stating that it is a matter of great joy for all.
DDC Chairman, Keshav Dutt Sharma, DDC Vice Chairman, Balwan Singh, Deputy Commissioner Samba, Abhishek Sharma, SSP Samba, Benam Tosh and other senior officers were present during the outreach programme.
