Govt to bring Hindu shrines bill

JAMMU, Apr 3: The Government will introduce the Bill regarding preserving Hindu Temples, Shrines and Religious places in the State in on-going Assembly session.
This was stated by Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Mir Saifullah while interacting with a deputation of Pandit Prem Nath Bhat Memorial Trust (PPNBMT), which called on him here today.
The Minister said that the Government is committed to protect and preserve the religious places and properties of Hindus in the State particularly in Kashmir Valley, adding that all out efforts are also being made in this regard. He said that safeguarding of temples, shrines, besides property of people of the State is included in the directive principles.
The deputationists included R. L. Bhat, T N Pandita, B L Bhat, Advocate Ravinder Raina, R. L. Pandita and B L Pandita.
The Minister heard the deputationists patiently and said that their demands would be looked into and the bill would be introduced in the ongoing session which was a long pending demand of the Kashmiri Pandits.
