ASSOCHAM organises webinar on Udyam Registration

JAMMU, Feb 12: Commissi-oner Secretary, Industries and Commerce Manoj Kumar Dwivedi today announced that Jammu and Kashmir Government would do away with a lot of NoCs for ease of doing business.
Dwivedi was speaking in a webinar organised by the ASSOCHAM on the topic “J&K Udyam Registrations” to create awareness among industries about the registration process and its benefits.
The webinar was attended by Nazim Zia Khan, Director Industries Kashmir, Subah Mehta, GM, DIC Jammu, Dr Pawan Malhotra, Director Principal, ASCOMS, Manik Batra, Chairman, ASSOCHAM J&K Council and Dr MA Alim, Co-Chairman, J&K Council.
“I would like to announce from this platform that the existing industries will also be covered in the New Industrial policy, which will be out soon and the Government is going to do away with a lot of NoCs for ease of doing business,” Dwivedi said.
He also said that to push the service sector so that more youth can enter and set up business, Government is also including service sector like hospital, hotels etc to MSMEs.
Appreciating the initiative taken by ASSOCHAM, the Commissioner Secretary said, “The Industry bodies like ASSOCHAM are working hand in hand to the take the Government initiatives across and I am hopeful that we will get maximum number of registrations”.
While giving introduction about the Udyam Registration, Director Industries said, “With an emphasis on improving ease of doing business for MSMEs, the Government has launched a new portal for registration and classification of enterprises namely Udyam, under which Registration process is fully online, paperless and based on self-declaration. Only Aadhaar, GST and PAN Number are needed for registration and PAN & GST linked details on investment and turnover of enterprises will be taken automatically from Government data bases. This Portal is fully integrated with Income Tax and GSTIN systems.”
Subhah Mehta, General Manager DIC Jammu, apprised the participants that Udyam Registration is free of cost, with no personal interface of the stakeholder with the department.
Manik Batra said, “Udyam registration is very important for any MSME. Many benefits like collateral free loans, interest subsidy on bank loans and protection against delay in payments to name a few. The RBI has also made it mandatory for the lenders to ensure that their MSME borrowers are registered. ASSOCHAM J&K office is always there to assist all the stakeholders with this registration.”
