Govt to ensure modern facilities in every nook & corner: Bhalla

JAMMU, Feb 15: Minister for Housing, Horticulture and Culture Raman Bhalla said that Government is working towards ensuring overall development in every nook and corner of the State, adding that to meet this objective, projects have been launched across the State under various development sectors like PHE, PDD, R&B, JMC, ERA and UEED.
As part of this endeavour, Mr. Bhalla today launched Rs. 16 lakh development works at Nanak Nagar Sector-7 and Bandhu Rakh in Gangyal.
The Minister asked the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) to complete all the ongoing projects in Nanak Nagar and Bandhu Rakh within stipulated time frame by using quality material. He said that an effective monitoring mechanism has been put in place to enforce accountability and transparency in the implementation of the developmental schemes in every district and block level headquarters.
Mr. Bhalla assured that the Government is making all out efforts to extend services to the people at their door steps. He asked the accompanying officers of JMC, PHE, ERA, R&B, UEED and PDD to submit the detailed project report of left out projects of their respective departments to meet the development needs of the people.
The Minister said Government was fully aware of people’s problems and was making all out efforts to fulfil the same on priority. He said for this purpose Central Government has provided liberal funding under development sectors.
Responding to the demand of residents of Nanak Nagar Sector-7, Mr. Bhalla asked UEED to start construction work of culverts over drains.The Minister directed JMC to depute regular teams of Safaikaramcharies in the localities for ensuring clean and healthy environment. He called upon the people to avoid littering and help in keeping the place clean.
Mr. Bhalla said that Government is keen to address public concerns on priority and the development machinery has already geared up for timely redressal of the development related issues of the people across the State. He said for upgrading the living standard of people of the urban pockets, Government has launched number of welfare scheme like IAY and BSUP.
The Minister called upon the people to continue their wholehearted cooperation to the Government for achieving the developmental goal.
