Srinagar, June 25 : Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha today said that maximum youth will get jobs in the coming days as the Government will rollout a job policy soon.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a function at Magam in Budgam, the LG said that in the coming days, the Government will roll out a job policy and maximum number of youth will get jobs.
He added that qualified youth must give up the mind-set of waiting for Government jobs.
Citing an example of an M. Tech youth, LG said the youth was waiting for a Government job for the past four years despite being well-qualified.
He further said that security forces are working under a policy to ensure peace and no innocent will be touched, but guilty will be taken to task as per the law.

He said that some people aren’t happy to see peace prevailing in Kashmir and Government won’t allow them to succeed.
The LG said that Khadi and Village Board has provided employment to lakhs of people. “I am very thankful to the Khadi and Village Board who have done exemplary work in last few years. I feel they have been able to provide employment to lakhs of people”, he said.
Sinha said that the cluster which was formed today will immediately help 500 artisans and in future 2500 more artisans will join them.
The LG said that the artisans are doing great work and Government is making efforts so that they can get better remunerations. “We are making our efforts to send the artisans to the expos which are held across the country, some artisans had also gone to Dubai and Surajkund mela as well. In Srinagar Haat Exhibitions are being held so that the tourists can come and buy the artifacts from them,” he added.
On the sidelines of another function at SKICC Srinagar, the LG said on ground the Industrialists are facing some difficulties and Government is trying to mitigate those.
“When I came in August 2020, I had made an announcement of big package for the Industries. Majority of the things have been done but some people today said that few things have been left out. One we have to implement it and second is the New Industrial Policy has started a new beginning. On ground there are some difficulties faced by the industries and through conversation we have tried to understand their difficulties,” he added.
He stressed for institutionalized mechanism to deal with the problems faced by the industrialists. “I have talked about institutionalized mechanism and Director Industries will meet them and those issues which are genuine will be addressed,”.
“We have made various services related to industries online as they said they were facing difficulties. We are trying to reduce the human interface through technology. We are trying to revive the cottage industries here so that people will get employment,” the LG said.
Earlier in the day, the LG inaugurated the Sukhnag Sozni Embroidery SFURTI Heritage Cluster of J&K Khadi and Village Industries Board today at Magam in Budgam.
He said that the Government has taken various steps to make handicraft sector more competitive, boost exports and give a fillip to village industries, a repository of creative tradition. “We are determined to ensure capacity building, foster innovation, best in class infrastructure, easy access to credit and market,” he said.
“We have implemented policies to ensure that the artisans get an opportunity to showcase their products at national and international expos and receives better price for their products,” he added.
He emphasized that the creativity of all the craft-artists will be more productive in future with Government’s focused investment in skill development, modern technology, innovative business practices which will directly contribute to the increased earnings of craftsmen.
“Financial support was extended to 5851 units against the target of 1008 units and more than 47 thousand people were directly provided with employment,” he said.
“Out of the 12,000 units that have been installed in the last two years, 4000 units are being run by women and 1000 units belong to marginalized sections,” he added.
He said that around Rs 24 crore is being spent in setting up all these clusters which will help in better production and marketing of rural products.
The LG assured all possible support in the form of financial assistance, skill development, capacity building, etc. to the youth who are inclined to start any entrepreneurial activity related to the handicrafts sector.
Meanwhile, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today met Industry leaders and representatives of various Industries Associations from across Jammu & Kashmir.
The meeting deliberated on enhancing ease of doing business and support to local industries.
“It has been the constant endeavour of the UT Government to boost the investment climate, fulfill Prime Minister’s vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat, and we have undertaken multiple key initiatives to establish a transparent system to attract capital and harnessing local entrepreneurial potential, the Lt Governor observed.
“Development and blossoming of businesses is possible only in peace. Those trying to disrupt the peaceful atmosphere are the biggest enemies of industrial and socio-economic growth of J&K”, he added.
At the core of the government’s industrial policy is providing opportunities and assistance to local industries, economic growth and generating employment for our youth, added the Lt Governor.
The Government is sensitive to the issues of the Industries and Business sector and committed to provide all assistance. A committee comprising of Industries & Commerce department and entrepreneurs is being constituted as an institutionalized mechanism to hold regular interactions with the Industry representatives, Chambers of both the divisions to resolve the issues and challenges confronting the businesses, Sinha said.
He highlighted the technological interventions and online services introduced for extending completely transparent and hassle-free Government services to the business and industry sector.
The Lt Governor further informed that the administration is working out a policy for separate Industrial Estate for StartUps.
A similar interaction will be held in Jammu with representatives of Chamber and Industries soon.
Pertinently, many representatives of Chamber and Industries Association from Jammu region were unable to attend today’s meeting due to closure of Jammu-Srinagar Highway.
During the interaction, the representatives of various associations including FCIK, KCCI, PHDCCI, KPO, TAHAFUZ, KCC, Confederation of Indian Industry, Hydel Power Association, Kathua Industrial Association, Industrial Estates etc projected their issues and concerns and sought Lt Governor’s intervention for their early redressal.
