Govt unable to provide basic amenities: DJM

JAMMU, June 12: Dalit Janjagriti Mission (DJM) has alleged that State Government is unable to provide basic amenities to the people and employment to over five lakh unemployed educated youth in the State.
Addressing a press conference here today, S A Mir, national general secretary of the organization expressed serious concern over the tall claims of the Government having provided employment to a large number of unemployed educated youth. Mir said about five lakh educated youth in the State are unemployed and their number is continuously increasing. They have managed their studies under financial constraints and now they are facing hardships.
He pointed out that people of Jammu province at present are facing problems due to Government apathy as it has failed to provide basic amenities like water and power supply. The people are on the roads and protesting in all the districts from Kathua to Poonch. There is no accountability at all. No official bothers even Ministers or top officers.
There is nobody to listen to the woes of agitated public all around. It seems there is no governance at all. He pointed out that Government claimed to have spent crores of rupees on tourism in Reasi district but due to bad condition of roads no tourist is prepared to go there. He demanded that road condition be improved.
Bashir Ahmed Dar state president and Ghulam Mohammed, provincial president also spoke in the conference.
