Hangloo said that Hangalgund is an ancient village where besides three Hindu Shrines, a temple and dharmashlla as well as three cremation grounds exists and the authorities should ensure their full protection and safety.
He said the idol of Hangla Devi is still exiting near the cement bridge adjacent to trout nullah and some vested interests had tried to construct a transport yard there. Taking serious exception to the same, he said that such a step has hurt the sentiments of the community and with such act these elements are hell bent to destabilize the peace in the area.
He said on the one side the Government was claiming about the return of Pandits to Valley and on the other such anti social elements are given a free hand.
However tehsildar Kokernag confirmed to Excelsior that some elements tried to grab the land by depositing the mulba for filling the area. However the administration swung into action and took the two persons into custody besides registering a case against them. He said the encroachers have been warned against tress passing.
